An engaging, practical, and compelling workshop that ensures math is accessible for all educators.
Course content features:
- Current findings from neuroscience, including how the brain learns, how math understanding typically develops, and where dyscalculia and math learning disabilities occur.
- The essential role subitizing plays in all mathematical conceptual understanding including the basis for developing decomposition and recomposition of number to 10.
- How to use manipulatives to develop conceptual models for multiplication and connect them to their inverse in division. Participants will learn to use specific methods of practice to develop fluency and automaticity based on conceptual understanding and use of strategies.
Registration for Decoding Math (30 PDP) is open and on a rolling basis.
