Workshop Introduction

This one day workshop (6 PDPs) provides elementary educators with evidence-based instructional strategies that address the needs of K-2 students reading below grade level including those at-risk for dyslexia.

Workshop Overview & Objectives

This workshop is designed to make intervention planning and delivery streamlined and practical. The content focuses on the following objectives:

  • Supporting the interpretation of early literacy screening data.
  • Helping educators develop evidence-based instructional plans for students at risk of dyslexia and those reading below benchmark.
  • Identifying decodable texts to utilize during targeted small group instruction
  • Practicing structured literacy routines that teach the foundational skills, words, sentences, vocabulary and comprehension strategies necessary to read decodable texts.

The course fee includes one Decoding Duo manual with all the pre-planned small group intervention lessons, so that you can begin teaching tomorrow.

The workshop is designed for classroom teachers, reading specialists, interventionists, language teachers and para-professionals.
